  well, i don't wanna rant too much but sometimes things cut you don't they.. a family member had a get together for the family, jw and non jw and of course i wasn't invited being da'd.. i understand why they couldn't invite me but it just made me think.

  in normal society this wouldn't happen.

  i'd have been there.. the shunning is so unnatural and damaging.

  Moms have been worshipped since time immemorial. Dad not so much.

  To hear tell, the first Father's Day was held in Spokane, Wash., in 1910.

  The suggestion of a Father's Day was often met with laughter, but when

  the trade groups got wind of a Father's day, hell yes. Ties, tobacco pipes

  and other traditional presents for fathers, great idea. Many saw it as the first step

  in filling the calendar with mindless promotions. Mother days means flowers and

  champagne brunches. Or a dinner at a place where the menus don't have prices.

  Father's Day is a barbecue slaved over by the honoree. As one small boy once

  observed, "It's just like Mother's day only you don't spend so much".

  A fact, more phone calls are made on Mother's Day than during Father's Day, but

  the percentage of collect calls on Father's Day is much higher.

  Best definition of a Dad? "A father carries pictures where his money used to be".

  this is a bizarre story.. there is a woman who is the local leader of the naacp who is obviously trying to mislead people into believing she is black who is actually white.

  very white.. she obviously gets a tan regularly but looks more orange.

  yes, orange really is the new black!.

  have issues. I'm sure she have other family members beside her mom and dad,

  what will they think.It's one thing to be a bit deceptive, more like over the top deceptive. LOL

  I have known folks who identify with another race, but you know their ethnics.

  In the ninth grade a friend who I had known from grade school one day came to

  school and told every one his name is Harry Bob, you can call me Harry from this day forward.

  His name was Larry Frank, the boy had issues. He was taken away after that, and his father

  was a preacher.

  This is a strange story. I have heard of blacks passing as whites in the

  50's, but a white passing as a black person. My brother in the navy in the

  50's knew a guy that passed as white, from Louisiana. He only reveal his

  identity to my brother and one other guy.

  I have a problem with someone passing for another race, be proud of who you are.
